The Cinematographer with a Unique Perspective – Sooraj Chandran
Say hello to Sooraj Chandran a gifted filmmaker from Kerala, India. After completing his Bachelors in Visual Communication in the year 2018, he has quickly established a name for himself as a talented cinematographer and editor in the field of film-making through his unique set of angles and frames. He spent 3 years freelancing followed by 2 years of working as a cinematographer and an editor for a Goa-based Ad Agency. Over the years, he has gained much professional experience over handling cameras, lighting, sound mixing, an array of editing software, and then a recent stride through drone photography.
Working with many reputed brands and clients such as FC Goa, Hyatt Centric, W Hotels, British Council & English Premier League, he has created a very high reputation for himself and contributed to the production of over 30+ ad films and over 5 short films to his credit. He had also performed as the club videographer/photographer for FC Goa during Hero Super Cup in the year 2019. His greatest inspiration includes the work of cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, as a result of which he has developed a preference for wide-angle perspectives and the skillful use of natural light while pursuing independent filmmaking.
In the spirit of creativity and expression, the medium of independent filmmaking is ideal.
