Ashik Dennis – An Emerging Designer from Abu Dhabi
Opinions are divided as to whether lockdown conditions stimulate or inhibit creativity. We have been here before. Ashik Dennis is an Abu Dhabi-based designer who excels at creating brand identities, illustrations, and animations. After graduating in commerce and working as a high-paying Chartered Accountant for three years, he knew his heart had a different calling. And soon, enough was enough as the inner call to pursue his passion overcame everything, including the uncertain life of being a freelancer and the immense challenge of learning the basics of design and animation from scratch.
He took full advantage of online courses which gave him access to a vast pool of knowledge. He casually puts it as “All we need is an indomitable will and an internet connection, really!”. The consistent effort and patience were key in how he took on the journey. And the journey has been nothing short of amazing for him. Meeting and interacting with the design community in Abu Dhabi has become difficult due to the onset of the pandemic, but the online design community is thriving and growing every day. Being a part of that has proved to be indispensable for career growth and for finding new amazing clients anywhere in the world.
And this paved the path for Litebox. When the meeting first took place with a bunch of passionate and creative minds such as himself for creating a hub for passionate creatives to come together, create and share amazing work, he was immediately on board. Now Ashik Dennis is an integral part of Litebox helping to update features and make it better to help artists come together virtually in these troubling times.
